Excellent Sunday, Unsettled Memorial Day

Good afternoon everyone! I hope you are all enjoying this gorgeous, but cool Saturday. Heidi here, filling in for Tim this evening.

The sun is shining, but temperatures are still on the cool side. We will gain a few more degrees by 6 pm, but things will start to cool down fast after that.

We will see a few more clouds during the evening hours tonight and that is going to help keep us slightly warmer than last night. Unfortunately we are still going to see cool temperatures in the upper 30s to low 40s and that has prompted some advisories. There will be frost advisories in effect for Pocahontas, Greenbrier and Monroe counties from 2 AM Sunday morning until 8 AM Sunday afternoon. Make sure you take proper precautions with your plants tonight.

Tomorrow will be a bit warmer. We will see mostly sunny skies and highs will make it to the upper 60s. It is possible we will see a few 70s on the board, especially into Wyoming and McDowell counties. We are looking at a perfect day for a cookout!

Tomorrow night will be much more mild than the previous two. We will see temperatures in the low 50s and will start things off like that on Memorial Day.

Memorial Day will bring mostly cloudy skies and the chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms. If you are attending to any parades make sure you bring an umbrella just in case. We will see slightly warmer temperatures in the low 70s.

Scattered showers will linger through the evening and into the early afternoon on Tuesday. Highs will be warmer on Tuesday as well and will make it into the mid 70s.

We clear up for Wednesday and begin to crank up the heat. We will see sunny conditions and temperatures in the 80s through at least Saturday! The warmest day is looking to be Saturday with highs in the mid 80s.
