FAYETTEVILLE - Around 25 people were arraigned in Fayette County Circuit Court on Thursday morning for the next grand jury term, including a man accusing of burning seven cats.

Michael Ford, 56, pleaded not guilty to seven counts of cruelty to animals. Ford's wife had called the authorities back in October 2013 to report that he had put her cats in a crate and placed them into a fire pit, letting them burn to death.  In her account, there were twelve cats in total, some of which were just kittens.

Ford’s jury trial is scheduled to begin March 4 at 9 a.m. Ford remains in Southern Regional Jail on $35,000 bond.
