OAK HILL - A registered sex offender was arrested Thursday after troopers said he inappropriately touched a juvenile.

David James Haggerty, 52, of Oak Hill, was charged with first degree sexual abuse and second degree sexual assault.  Trooper Curtis Adkins said that while they responded to an anonymous tip that Haggerty kept company with a 15-year-old boy, the juvenile told investigators that he was inappropriately touched about five times within a month's time. Adkins said Haggerty admitted to touching the boy once, and that he was convicted of the same charges in Fayette County back in 1997.  Haggerty was released in June of 2012 after he served 14 years and nine months.

Haggerty remained in Southern Regional Jail Friday in lieu of $75,000 bond.
