CLIFFTOP – Residents in Fayette County have found their own ways of gathering water, and avoid the rush at supermarkets, while service continues to be restored.
A spring in Clifftop along Route 41 is gushing with fresh water, and a number of locals have taken advantage of the free resource.
Water at the spring is open to anyone who brings their own containers. It will be available until water pressure in Northern Fayette Co. can be restored.
Officials remind you that the water outage in Fayette Co. is not related to the chemical spill in Charleston. Fayette Co. gets its water from the New River, not the contaminated Elk River.
