DANIELS - The United Way of Southern West Virginia has accepted another donation to help in its quest to meet its $525,000 fundraising goal.
Organizers of Glade Springs' annual Fright Night presented an $8,383 check to the United Way Thursday from money raised during the Halloween event.
Back in October, the resort set aside part of its ticket sale proceeds to donate to the organization. This is the fourth year they will be making a contribution, which is almost double last year's amount.
"United Way gives back to so many other organizations and departments to where that is why we chose them to work with and continue to work with them," Ashley Davis told WOAY. "We feel that's our way to give back to the community -- to give to the United Way, and they will take care of that being distributed the right way."
Staff at Glade Springs said plans are already in the making for Fright Nights 2015 when they hope to raise even more.
