MT. HOPE - Two Fayette County fire departments are helping to give back to one homeless family this holiday season. Mt. Hope and Pax Fire Departments are taking donations for a family that lost everything in a weekend fire.

Officials say there have been several large donations from local businesses and residents. They need children’s clothing, including a girls size six, a boys size eight, and a women’s size 14.

Officials plan to have Santa in a big red fire truck deliver the gifts, and the Christmas spirit, on Wednesday.

Lt. Mark Hughes of the Mt. Hope Fire Dept. says, “People see us on their worst day, and for us to be able to step up and do something like this, and kind of bring a little bit of cheer in their life, it means a whole lot to us.

To donate, you can stop by the Mt. Hope or Pax Fire Department.
