CHARLESTON - The state's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell slightly last month to 6.1%.
WorkForce West Virginia said the number of unemployed residents fell by 1,400 to 48,000 people in November. Total state unemployment was down 12,200.
In the goods-producing sector, employment gains were seen in mining, logging, and manufacturing. Job losses were seen in construction. In the service-providing sector, job increases were reported in financial activities and professional and business services, while job decreases were reported in government, leisure and hospitality.
The national unemployment rate fell to 7%.
