An animal shelter gets donation from local kid

A local kid has different aspirations at a time when some many kids only want their Christmas wishes to come true.

Brayden Thompson, 7, is giving back in a big way. Brayden presented a check in the amount of $1,000 to the Raleigh County Humane Society. Braydon's act of kindness is inspiring the young and the old. Brayden is an animal lover, and he told us cats are a little crazy, but in a good way.

"Because I love the animals so much I want to give them food and this check for the shelter," said Brayden Thompson

"Any donations that come to us go towards anything here with the medical and regular bills. Like when something comes in injured, now we got this extra money that will probably go towards an animal in need," said Nicole Shryck.

Shryck says they have a lot of animals already spayed, neutered and vaccinated for adoption. The shelter is having a tougher time finding a forever home for the bigger dogs. The shelter will close early on Christmas Eve and closed on Christmas day.
