CEDAR BLUFF, Va. - The family of a missing Cedar Bluff man offered a $5,000 reward for information that leads to his location or recovery.

Eric G. Smith, 42, was reported missing back on November 8 after he didn't return from hunting on his property.  Cedar Bluff Police Chief David Mills said that Smith's disappearance was out of character based on interviews investigators conducted with his family, friends, and co-workers.

Virginia State Police said that the rescue team made up of volunteers, officers, friends, family members, and co-workers, searched more than 800 acres on the ground and by air.

The investigation is ongoing.
