BECKLEY - Tamarack hosts a holiday concert on Sunday; a 35 member choir from Beckley.

The Heart of God Ministries choir preformed old and new Christmas songs this afternoon at Tamarack. The choir started in 1993 and has been growing ever since. Church officials said the group has sung at venues up and down the East Coast, spreading the joy and work of their Savior.

The pastoral staff said they hope the community listens to the songs, but understands the true meaning of Christmas. Associate Pastor Jeanneatte Thomas said, "we hope that the community will get the meaning of Christmas and understand that Jesus is the reason for the season, and they will hear that through some of the traditional songs and even through some of the more modern songs that you will hear today."

Pastor Fred Simms said, "music is something that transcends all generations of time and transcends all cultures. Music brings us all together and we're all able to rejoice and hope in this one great and wonderful Savior, Jesus Christ."

The Heart of God Ministries Choir will also hold a Christmas Concert on December 22 at 5 PM at their church.
