CRAB ORCHARD - A fire on Sunday fills the air with smoke in a neighborhood in Crab Orchard.
A house fire at 127 Pebblestone Drive on Sunday morning left the home-owner standing in the rain as firefighters battled the flames inside. Mack Blankenship, owner of the house, said he has lived there for 24 years and just finished buying new appliances and redoing the floors.
Recently engaged, Blankenship said the house finally had a woman's touch and he was looking forward to further improvements. Having helped build the house for his previous pastor, Blankenship said he has always loved it.
"Well my pastor had died and his widow, she had moved away so she knew that I always loved this place because I actually helped her when they were building this house. I bought it, I started working on it and like I said, for the last I guess, 24 years it's been home," said Blankenship.
Nobody was home when the fire started and fortunately nobody was hurt.
