FAYETTEVILLE - Fayetteville hosted their own Christmas parade Saturday night hoping to kick off the holiday in their community.
Local businesses, Fayetteville authorities, Boy and Girl Scout Troops, along with countless others joined in on the fun.
Those that were not involved, lines the streets to watch their families and friends carry on the tradition. The floats lit up the street as they made their way from Fayetteville High School into downtown.
Local business owner, Chelsea Westfall, said she loves the community involvement, but Santa makes the parade all by himself; "you can get everybody in the community involved people come out and watch. All these businesses coming together, you know, being very festive. You got Santa Claus in the parade, you know that's basically Christmas right there to a lot of people," she said.
A tree lighting ceremony followed the parade held on the lawn of the Fayette County Courthouse.
