CHARLESTON - Some kids enrolled in the state's Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) will be moved to West Virginia's Medicaid program since the state expanded coverage under the federal heath care overhaul.

Kids who live in households with incomes 133% or less than the federal poverty line are now eligible for coverage under Medicaid.  CHIP officials said that these children will be moved to their new plans on their next scheduled renewal date.  Enrollees also have the option to switch prior to that date.

Their enrollment is effective as of January 1, 2014.
