Warming for the Weekend
Good Morning and HAPPY FRIDAY! Overall it is a quiet start to the morning, but those of you to the south and east are waking up to some messy weather. Tazewell county is seeing a rain/snow mix while southeastern Mercer and eastern Monroe counties are seeing some snow fall. The good news is the bulk of the storm is going to stay to our south, but if you are traveling toward Virginia or to the east of I-77 you will want to give yourself extra time.
Clouds will decrease during the day and we will begin to see sunshine by the afternoon. That will help warm us up into the upper 40s and low 50s. Tonight will be quiet for everyone and lows will fall back into the upper 20s and low 30s.
The weekend is looking fantastic. We will see sunshine for our Saturday and highs will reach the 50s for just about everyone. Very late Saturday night and into Sunday we run the risk of a few rain/snow showers, but the threat dies down before most of us get out of bed. Sunday afternoon is looking sunny, but a bit cooler with highs in the mid 40s.
Monday and Tuesday will bring sunshine and much warmer weather. Highs will be in the upper 50s and low 60s both days.
Wednesday brings our next storm. This will start as rain on Wednesday as highs will still be in the 50s. By Wednesday night temperatures start to drop and we will see a transition to snow which will last into our Thursday. Highs on Thursday will be much cooler in the upper 20s and low 30s..<
