RUPERT - Three Greenbrier County coal mines will shut down if a contract is not made with coal buyers.
Gary Groves, Vice President and Human Resources Administrator of Greenbrier Minerals says Mountaineer One, Mountaineer Two and Midland Two, mine employees received notices that the mines will idle if they do not reach contracts with coal buyers.
Groves says due to a difficult market they sent out the notices but are hopeful they will receive a contract. The mines would close on the 31st of December and would affect 100 jobs.
