OHIO COUNTY - An Ohio County jury convicted a man guilty of leaving his step-son locked in a hot car.
Stephen Clemens, 25, was convicted of child neglect and entering without breaking. Police said Clemens and the 9-year-old boy's mother left the child locked in a car at the Highlands Shopping Complex in July while they tried to shoplift.
A shopper saw the boy inside the car and told a nearby deputy. The boy's mother, Jeanette Darnley, pled guild to neglect last week and testified against Clemens.
A sentencing date has not been set.
