BECKLEY - Men and women over the age of 50 are hoping to make their lives a little easier by attending this year's senior care fair.

Dozens of seniors traveled to the Raleigh County Commission on Aging Wednesday to meet with 30 exhibitors, which included banks and home service providers.

"They give you so much information about health programs and insurances," Charlotte Poole told WOAY. "There were all kinds of things that were helpful. Especially seniors in this day and age -- we have to get all the bargains and all the free things we can."

Fair organizers believe the county's elderly population will benefit from available services, especially in a world of changing insurance options.

"This is a good way for them to maybe instead of reading about it and trying to learn about it," organizer Jim Sassak said. "They can come first hand -- firsthand knowledge on the items they need to have to make their life maybe a little big easier."
