BECKLEY - Beckley Police are looking for the person who recently broke into Kmart and stole several items.

The incident happened early Tuesday morning, according to Detective Morgan Bragg. Officers responded to an alarm at Kmart around 4:15 a.m. and discovered a window had been shattered and items including jewelery were stolen.

Police are investigating whether this incident is related to the recent thefts of Schewels, Rent-A-Center and Aaron's Rental in Beckley. "There are some similarities in the way the these breaking and enterings were perpetrated," explained Bragg. "I wouldn't say at this point that we have enough to verify that they are related in any way, but that's certainly something we're evaluating and attempting to discern."

Anyone with information is asked to call the Police Department at 304-256-1708 or Crime Stoppers at 304-255-STOP.
