UPDATE: New details in the active homicide investigation in McDowell County.
Officials said that Harry Arnold Edwards, 63, of Mohawk, was found by his sister and brother-in-law. The two looked through a window and saw Edwards laying on the floor before they forced their way into the home and called 911.
MOHAWK - A McDowell County man was killed and investigators called it a homicide.
According to Sheriff Martin West, deputies found Harry Arnold Edwards, 63, of Mohawk, dead from a single gunshot wound to the head just before 10:00 p.m. Thursday while they responded to a shooting complaint in the area.
West said the investigation is ongoing, but it is being called a homicide.
