CHARLESTON - State corrections officials have finished moving juvenile offenders out of the Harriet B. Jones Treatment Center in Harrison County.
16 juvenile sex offenders are now at the Sam Perdue Juvenile Center in Mercer County, while six others with behavioral or mental issues are at the James H. "Tiger" Morton Juvenile Center in Kanawha County.
Department of Military Affairs and Public Safety spokesman Lawrence Messina said the last transfers were completed Thursday.
In July, Circuit Judge Omar Aboulhosn ordered the state to relocate the center or it's residents by the end of the month after he condemned conditions at the former Industrial Home for Youth in Salem.
