FAYETTEVILLE - In just a few weeks, West Virginia's New River Gorge Bridge will play host to the famous Bridge Day.
The 34th annual event will feature two new acts this year, including a BMX flatline bike show by Terry Adams and the X-Pogo team, which will perform extreme stunts on their sticks.
"This is a great opportunity obviously," said Bridge Day Chair Cindy Dragan. "It's the only day it's legal to walk out onto the bridge and see the beautiful colors of fall here in West Virginia. It's also just a great day to come out and enjoy the beauty of this state."
As the third Saturday in October nears, officials say they're crossing their t's and dotting their i's. Much of the next few weeks will focus around shuttle scheduling and answering any questions visitors may have.
"I think Bridge Day is just a spectacular day to be in the New River Gorge," Dragan said. "I think it brings great exposure for this area. We have 450 base jumpers that come from all around the world, so it's something that's a little bit outside of West Virginia, and it just shows off everything West Virginia has to offer."
Bridge Day is only 23 days away. A $2 shuttle is available for guests to ride.
