BECKLEY - Downtown Beckley was filled with school spirit as Woodrow Wilson High School kicked off Homecoming Week with an annual parade.
Hundreds of Flying Eagle fans lined the streets of uptown Beckley and were treated to music by marching bands, floats, candy, and of course, the homecoming court. This was the first year the school held the event at the start of the week so the football team could participate. Many folks who attended said they liked the change because more fans could come.
John Childers was there to support the team. "You never get too old for a parade or a ball game either," Childers said.
Woodrow Wilson will host the Riverside Warriors Friday night. You can catch all the highlights from this game and many more on "The Fifth Quarter."
