CHARLESTON – A national community
service organization is celebrating 20 years of service.
AmeriCorps has served communities in West Virginia and
nationwide since 1993. More than 820,000 men and women have served more than one
billion hours to improve the lives of Americans, according to officials.
Senator Jay Rockefeller, (D)-WV, said he wants to
celebrate all of these volunteers. “There is such value in getting outside of
ourselves and being part of a bigger community, a larger problem,” explained
