Two Maryland men are arrested in drug bust

SMITHERS - Two Maryland men are in Southern Regional Jail following an early morning drug bust in Fayette County.

Kenneth Lawrence Duncan and John Lewis Williams, both of Maryland, are charged with possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance and conspiracy to commit a felony.

Smithers Police caught the men trying to sell drugs around 2:00 Friday morning at the Kroger parking lot, according to the criminal complaint. Police had received an earlier tip from a confidential informant that the two men were driving to Smithers to sell drugs.

Police found 20 roxycodone pills and $2,008 in Williams's possession, as well as three roxycodone pills in the car. Both men admitted they were going to sell the pills.

Duncan and Williams are each in Southern Regional Jail on $35,000 cash bond.
