MABSCOTT - A longstanding entertainment venue in Southern West Virginia is closing its doors.
Theatre West Virginia, which has treated fans with shows such as Honey in the Rock, Hatfields and McCoys and The Rocket Boys has seen its final curtain call. General Manager Gayle Bowling says that after 53 seasons, the financial burden has caught up with operations. Bowling says funding cuts were revealed on Friday and after considerable deliberation, the board of directors voted unanimously on Tuesday to close the operation. The shutdown results in the loss of 12 employees.
