BEAVER - A Monroe County woman was arrested Saturday after police say she tried to smuggle drugs into Beaver's Southern Regional Jail.

Amanda Hope Brooks, 33, of Gap Mills, was arrested on one count of transporting a controlled substance on state correctional property, according to a criminal complaint.

Brooks was searched prior to visiting inmate Henry Wright when she was found with 12 Hydrocodone pills.

"The pills were packaged in a small, tight, tied plastic bag inside of what appeared to be a tied-off tip of a rubber glove ready for ingestion or concealment in the body," the complaint read.
