CHARLESTON - The coal industry in the Mountain State is bracing for new limits on gas emissions, expected to be handed down by the end of this week. The US Environmental Protection Agency says they will set carbon dioxide emissions limits for new coal-fired power plants that would effectively prohibit future construction. West Virginia politicians say this is another example of a national war on coal. Senator Joe Manchin says many of these regulations are an overreach by the government. Supporters of the restrictions say this is one way the EPA is moving along development of clean air technology.
