CHARLESTON - A Powerball ticket worth a million dollars will become just a piece of paper if it's not redeemed by the end of the day Thursday.
West Virginia Lottery Director John C. Musgrave said the winning ticked sold in Beckley back in March expires Thursday, if it goes unclaimed. The ticket matched five numbers, but missed the Powerball. It was purchased at a Little General store for the March 16 drawing. The store will get a $10,000 sales bonus even if the ticket expired.
The mystery ticket holder has until 5:00 p.m. to claim the prize at the lottery headquarters in Charleston.
