FAYETTEVILLE - A Raleigh County correctional officer charged with three felonies related to drug trafficking waived his right to a preliminary hearing Monday.
James Howard Butcher, 41, is charged with delivering a controlled substance, possession with the intent to deliver and conspiracy after deputies executed a search warrant last month at a residence in Fayetteville.
Deputies found more than $3,000 worth of the drug Roxycodone, more than $4,000 cash and a large amount of firearms, according to Sheriff Steve Kessler.
Butcher will be indicted by a grand jury. That date has not been scheduled yet, but Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Roger Lambert said it will likely be during the session in January.
