BECKLEY - A Beckley man is behind bars facing multiple drug charges after authorities say they found 12 marijuana plants growing in his backyard.

Demetrius Burns, 21, was arrested Wednesday and charged with possession and delivery of a controlled substance and cultivation of marijuana, according to a criminal complaint.

After receiving information that Burns was trafficking drugs, officers with the Beckley Police Department arranged a controlled buy of "crack cocaine" from Burns outside his home on Hager Street.

The transaction between Burns and a confidential informant was captured on video. After his arrest, marijuana and cocaine base were found inside his house.

He remains in Southern Regional Jail on $100,000 bond, according to online records.
