CHARLESTON - The future of passenger and freight rail service is on the agenda for West Virginia officials.

Officials recently wrapped up a series of statewide public meetings on the topic. State Rail Authority Executive Director Cindy Hunt said the information gathered will help the agency develop a plan for the next 20 to 30 years. Projects listed in the draft plan include upgrading the Harper's Ferry Station to make it handicap accessible, as well as adding a rail spur and station in Hampshire County.
