CHARLESTON - The state's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for June dropped down to 6.1%.
That's by 0.1% from May's rate of 6.2%. Workforce West Virginia said the number of unemployed residents fell by 1,700 to 48,400. Employment gains were recorded in manufacturing, financial activities, and professional and business services. Both the overall goods-producing and service providing sectors lost jobs.
The national unemployment rate remained the same at 7.6%
