UPDATE: A street in Princeton is closed Monday afternoon because of an over height vehicle.
The accident happened around noon today. An over height excavator belonging to recycle West Virginia was being towed on Rogers street when it struck the Norfolk and southern railroad bridge causing extensive damage.
Rogers street was closed between Wickham Ave and Second Street for safety reasons while the excavator was removed.
The bridge will need to be repaired over the coming days.
PRINCETON - A Princeton road is closed for the next few days after a truck carrying large equipment hit a railroad bridge, moving it several feet.
Dispatchers said the accident happened at the Brick and Rogers Street side of an overhead railroad bridge at around 11:30 a.m. Monday. Traffic is being redirected onto South Wickham and South Second Street.
