UPDATE: Officials release stabbing victim's identity

UPDATE: An altercation, apparently over a cellphone, sent one woman to the hospital and another to jail Thursday night.

Wyoming County Sheriff's Deputies said Misty Stanley, 27, of Brenton, stabbed Tonya Morgan, 30, of Brenton, in the stomach and wrist around 5:00 p.m. in Brenton.  Morgan was taken to Raleigh General Hospital, the seriousness of her injuries is unknown at this time.

Stanley was arrested and charged with malicious wounding.  She's currently in Southern Regional Jail.

Deputies continue to investigate the incident.


BRENTON - An altercation in Wyoming County Thursday night sends one woman to the hospital and puts another behind bars.

Wyoming County Sheriff's Deputies say Misty Stanley allegedly stabbed another woman in the stomach around 5pm Thursday in Brenton. Stanley has been arrested and charged with malicious wounding.

The victim, whose identity is not being released at this time was sent to the hospital, the seriousness of her injuries are unknown. Stanley is in Southern Regional Jail. The investigation is ongoing at this time, stick with Newswatch for more on this developing story.
