UPDATE: Man killed after physical altercation turned violent

UPDATE: A man was killed after a physical argument turned violent in Raleigh County.

Officials with the Raleigh County Sheriff's Department said that deputies responded to a shooting on Country Club Road in Beaver around 6:30 Thursday night.  When they arrived on scene, they said they found that Christopher Ward, 39, of Beaver, suffered an apparent gunshot wound.  Ward was taken to a local hospital where he later died.

Michael Stines, 46, of Beckley, allegedly admitted to deputies that he was the shooter and told the officers that he and Ward had gotten into a physical altercation. 

The investigation is ongoing, but no charges have been filed at this time.
