FAYETTEVILLE - Fayette County now has an Urgent Care facility to service area residents.
The Fayetteville Urgent Care on Maple Lane opened its doors Tuesday. Dr. John Hammack said the facility provides services for anything non life-threatening, including illnesses, cuts and injuries.
"It'll be that kind of valve for when something happens after hours, or if something happens and you can't get into your primary care," Hammack said. "We'll be here for you.
Physician Assistant Carrie Murrell said having an Urgent Care in Fayette County will prevent locals from having to travel far for care. "If you get hurt or you need help, you don't want to have to drive 45 minutes and spend all day in an ER, or all day in an urgent care 45 minutes away," said Murrell. "It's nice to have that care here."
The building has themed examination rooms, including a safari room and an underwater room for child patients.
Starting hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday hours will likely start sometime next month.
