PRINCETON, W. Va. – With a victory Tuesday night over Concord and by virtue of holding a tie-breaker, the Bluefield State men’s tennis team has clinched its second straight WVIAC regular-season championship.
The Big Blues have just one league match remaining during the regular season and currently stand at 7-0 in conference play. The squad downed Charleston on Monday 8-1, giving the Golden Eagles their first league loss of the season while giving BSC the tie-breaker.
The Big Blues are 14-2 overall and have won nine straight matches heading into the final weekend of the regular season.
BSC will hold the No. 1 seed in the upcoming WVIAC Tournament, which will be played the Apr. 18-21 at Schoenbaum Courts in Charleston, W. Va. The tournament schedule will be released after completion of the regular season.
