FAYETTVILLE- A man convicted of sexual abuse on a 12-year-old girl begins his jail time Thursday.

30-year-old Jonathan K Childress was sentenced to two to ten years in prison for two felony offenses of sexual abuse on a child Thursday. Prosecutors say he inappropriately touched a 12-year-old girl in November while she spent the night at his residence. Judge John Hatcher denied requests by Childress' defense attorney for his client to only serve probation other charges against Childress were resolved through a plea agreement.
