A Tazewell County Deputy who died in an accident while in the line of duty was laid to rest today.  Family, friends, and the law enforcement community attended the funeral of Deputy Shawn Hess at the Tazewell County Airport.  Hess died while responding to an emergency call early Friday morning in the Richlands area.  His Aunt, Lucy Combs, says Shawn was a helpful person both on and off the job.  Shawn was also an avid pilot who owned his own private aviation company, Hess Aviation.  Hess was carried to his resting place in Claypool Hill by a horse drawn carriage provided by the North Carolina State Police.
