SUMMERSVILLE - Friday four lucky people got to kiss a pig all thanks to students at Summersville Elementary.
Students raised more than $2,500 for the American Cancer Society, so both elementary principals, Summersville's police chief and mayor all kissed the pig. Students were pleasantly surprised the pig was real and not a toy.
"I mean I know we get prices after every cancer fundraiser but come on this. Everybody says it was pretty gross but it was for a good reason," said student and cancer survivor, Brooks Callaghan.
"I was surprised I didn't think they'd have a real pig. I thought it would be a stuffed animal of some sort," said student Trey Comer.
This is the first of many fundraisers for the Relay for Life on June 8 in Summersville.
