Arrest made in checkbook theft

RAINELLE- Two people are heading to jail after stealing a mans checkbook.

Rainelle Police Chief J.P. Stevens tells Newswatch Autumn McNeely and David Lee Bennett were arrested Friday and each charged with three counts of Forgery, three counts of Uttering and six counts of Conspiracy to Commit a Felony.

The two Rainelle residents stole a mans checkbook and admitted to writing, signing and cashing checks at a local convience store. 

McNeely is in Southern Regional Jail on a $10,000 surety bond.  Bennett has prior charges pending and is in jail on a $10,000 cash bond only.
