A Fayette County man is dead and another is behind bars facing murder charges.

Oak Hill Police Chief Michael Whisman said officers were originally dispatched for a trespassing complaint on East Main Street last night when they found Michael Sheets, 46, of the Scarbro area, unresponsive in an apartment.  Sheets was taken to Plateau Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.  The cause of death has not been released at this time.

From their ongoing investigation, officers arrested and charged Jeffrey Lafferty, 39, with murder.  Lafferty lives in the apartment where Sheets was found.  He is currently in Southern Regional Jail.
