About 25 people learned how to properly shoot handguns Saturday in Fayette County at a basic handgun safety course.
Captain Jim Sizemore of the Fayette County Sheriff's Department and Holly Secrist, a local gun dealer, have been teaching this course together for more than 20 years. The class is designed for people who have never handled a firearm before, and folks can apply for their gun permit at their local sheriff's office after successfully completing a written test and practical component.
Anyone interested in taking this basic handgun safety course can contact Secrist at 304-640-1110. The fee is $50.
