Loved Ones Pay Respects for Miner Killed Last Week

Family and friends of the Greenbrier County coal miner killed on the job last week paid their respects in Rainelle Tuesday night.

Steven O'Dell, age 27, of Mount Nebo was killed Friday when he was caught between a continuous miner and a scoop. His loved ones attended a public viewing at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home.

O'Dell worked as an electrician for more than three years at the White Buck Coal Company Pocahontas Mine A in Rupert.

The family is asking for donations for a set up a trust fund with BB&T for his unborn child. A private funeral service for family and close friends will be held Wednesday.
