Thursday was the first day of classes for kids in Nicholas County, and two adults decided to join them, which put them behind bars.

Richwood kids, along with Bryan Johnson and Ayla Hodges hopped on the bus at 7:30 Thursday morning to head to school. By the time kids got to Richwood Middle and High School the bus driver notified officials that two adults, 21-year-old Johnson and 19-year-old Hodges were intoxicated on the bus.  Police arrested the two and charged them with Disturbance of School, Trespassing and Public Intoxication.

Director of Transportation for Nicholas County Schools, Ernie Jarvis, said, "The school system was aware of the situation. No students were in danger. The school is continuing the investigation."

The Sheriff's Department will also investigate and said this is a rare occasion.

Both suspects are still in Central Regional Jail.
