BLUEFIELD - A Virginia man was arrested following a reported domestic dispute that ended in a fire in Mercer County.

Corporal J. D. Vance with the Bluefield Police Department said Caleb Jordan Merritt, 18, of North Tazewell is charged with domestic battery and first-degree arson. Vance said around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Merritt was in an altercation with his ex-girlfriend and set some of her belongings on fire inside an apartment at Tiffany Manor on Hill Avenue.
