PRINCETON - A Virginia man who was run over by a school bus in West Virginia was lying on the ground when he was hit, according to police.
Mercer County Sheriff's Chief Deputy D. B. Bailey said toxicology test results are still pending and medical examiners have not determined whether 31 year-old Patrick Neal of Bluefield was alive when he was hit.
Neal's body was found the morning of February 20 on Stoney Ridge Road. The Mercer County school bus driver told police that he ran over an object in the road and thought it was trash. No children were on the bus at the time.
Another bus driver saw Neal on the road about an hour later and called 911.
