Man arrested in church robbery

HINTON - A wanted Hinton man is arrested for breaking into a church and causing thousands of dollars worth of damage.

Members of the Hinton Police Department along with the West Virginia State Police located and arrested Blaine Adkins. After 6 hours of distributing his photo and information via Facebook and the news, Adkins was apprehended.

Chief Derek Snavely says quote" We would like to express our sincere thanks to all the public and media for spreading the word and aiding us in a quick apprehension of Mr. Adkins. The success of our jobs relies heavily on strong continuous support from our local community."

Adkins is charged with breaking and entering, grand larceny and destruction of property after stealing and damaging 3 guitars and smashing a window at the Hinton Gospel Tabernacle Church. Adkins is currently in Southern Regional Jail.
