WHITESVILLE – Raleigh County has moved a voting precinct for the school board levy in a last-minute emergency.
Road crews continue work to clear the rock slide that has shut down a part of Route 3. Officials are unsure if the road will be passable by Saturday morning in time for voters to hit the polls.
Most of the voters in the affected precinct live below the rock slide and would have gone to Marsh Fork Elementary School.
Instead they will vote at the Raleigh-Boone Technical Center in Whitesville and not at Marsh Fork.
But that change isn't shying voters away.
“My son goes to Trap Hill, and I do know that the band and the choir, every year have to raise money to go on their trips and things where they do their concerts and all,” says Connie Snider of Eccles, “I'd like to see something more done with the choir and the band.”
Polls will open Saturday at 6:30 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m.
